The Music in the Park Series at Smith Mountain Lake is great event to attend. The entertainment varies from week to week with bluegrass and old-time music being featured on the fourth Saturdays of May‚ June‚ July and August. The Beach Pavilion is partially covered‚ and is furnished with picnic tables and chairs. With the Beach Pavilion right on the lake‚ people can even attend this event by boat! Food is available at the event.
Directions:
Take 122 north towards Bedford. Cross the Hales Ford Bridge and travel about 3 miles and take a right on Route 608‚ Whitehouse Road. Continue on Whitehouse Road for 6 miles. At the intersection of Route 608 and 626 turn right on 626‚ Smith Mountain Lake Parkway. Travel 2 miles and turn right into the Park entrance‚ State Park Road. Keep going on that road and it will take you to the Beach Pavilion. Also‚ park maps are available and there are signs all the way to the park.
