 her documents related to regional folkways. Holdings date from 1780 to the
  present. Ever growing‚ the collection touches upon nearly every aspect 
 of Virginia folklife--from Tidewater gospel singing to Shenandoah Valley G
 erman dialect to Southwest Virginia historical crafts and trades. The arch
 ive is open weekdays by appointment only. Sometimes the Blue Ridge Institu
